I didnt think we'd ever get to play this game with both ourselves and DW being really busy with other games and the end of the season fast approaching, However luckily? SSK and BAD cancelled on ourselves and DW so we were both looking for a game and we eventually decided we might as well play..Was really a case of play today or not at all so it made sense as this was pretty much a league decider.
Onto the game, First up was openfire_lowgrens and both teams defences dominated this totally and both of our offences really struggled to get any decent movement with DW's major attack moving the flag to the pit where it was eventually returned and while we faired a little better(bout 4 flags moved towards the switch) it wasnt until the last 2 minutes or so that we managed to work one all the way to the midfield, Unfortunately the flag carrier died there and gave the DW defence time to defend the flag, with the seconds ticking away we simply didnt have enough time to cap it and the map ended with it stuck in the water trench with about 4 DW defenders around it :P
Not a vintage attacking game but fun all the same :)
Next was cz2 and after our previous performance where we didnt have much teamplay at all and noone seemed to understand their roles i wasnt overconfident going into this.
However after giving out a few instructions in prematch and with plenty of comms in game we managed to put out a fairly solid performance and after an early all cap we never really looked back.
There were a few dodgy moments about 10 minutes in when ritchs adsl went crap and he dropped twice(thanks for idling DW :x) luckily though DD joined and we managed to sort ourselves out.
DW did put us under some heavy pressure at times with a lotve ppl outside our base and on a couple of occasions they held 4 cp's but we always managed to recover and hold them off.
We eventually finished with 3 full caps and did some nice teamwork to get 2 of them with a scout getting 5 just as we capped the other final point :)
