| Nemesis Hook |
Well this things been around for quite a while(didnt use it myself cos i wasnt really sure about whether it was legal) And since i havnt noticed an awful lot of other ppl talking about it either i figure it aint too well known,Or people know about it and use it on the quiet ;)

I just noticed a news post on Vitality saying its legal so ill just cut and paste what theyve said:

There have been some debat about a little program that you can add to your TFC, a so called hook. Most hooks as we know them are cheat hooks which contain wallhacks or other nasty stuff. This hook however is the opposit and adds a few nice features.
1. fog removal in water (removes the difference between a d3d and opengl user on well)
2. flagtimer - see how long the flag have been dropped (not unlike the old YWZ timer from germany or a simple watch)
3. clock (what time is it)
4. Crosshair (a big fat green one, if you dont like your own)
5. winamp control
6. removal of message mode 1 chat (get red of the other teams annoying chat)

Is this allowed in Vitality? yes it is. Some admins like it some dont, but all agree it cannot be looked at as a cheat. If you got questions about it you can talk to Phero who usually is around in #kosm |
Im not altogether sure of my thoughts on it,But i figure if its out there then everyone should know about it...Id be interested in peoples opinions :)

If anyone would know how to alter they can make one of their own , it's just the code in another file no ? So they could aimbot / wallhack with a custom made cheat.Why bother to alter a file when you can just put it in a new wich is unknow by everyone (also the anti cheat tools)
Seems abit strange no ? |

Only thing is can think of is....That if someone alters nemesis to contain a wallhack or whatever, Then noone will be any the wiser cos itll only ever show up as nemesis.exe even if csguard is configured to look for it.
So basically they have a ready made "legitimate" hook to slip something more sinister into and a pretty damn good excuse "i was only using nemesis" to go along with it....
Roll on Valve Anti-cheat in TFC i say. |

| I got it, timer is good, removing fog is ok as u can see through water using opengl instead of using d3d which ruins my fps. Winamp thing is good too :D |

Just got kicked from a cs server cos ase was trying to load nemesis.exe for cs ;/.
First time joining a cs server (1.4) and im already getting kicked for 'cheat' files ;).

| It's a cheat, not because it is a hook, not because of the wallhack it had but pur and simply because it provides in-game info that is not available inthe HL engine. It takes HL dta, processes it and then displays it. thats why it is a cheat and is currently banned and a classed a cheat in CS. |
