What you think your playing at? I wouldn't mind if you had a clue about web-design and could actually make some valid points concerning the website, but instead you have to march in and offend as many people as possible, well i'm offended. I dont see =BC= members going to teamshs.com and making any sort of derogatory remark concerning the site, do you? If im mistaken them please go ahead and point me to the relevant url.
A message to UncleBruce, is Nero really an appropriate choice of vice captain at shs? Surely a vice captain of a highly respected clan such as yourselves should learn when, how and why to keep his mouth firmly shut.
If anybody has any genuine question/gripe about the website feel free to contact me in #bodycount, and im sure myself or Lifeless will be happy to answer it. Thanks.

SpankyFart, was that post for me? Just that Revz hasn't posted on here so I'm wondering...
First off, where did I say it's mediocre? I said it doesn't really do anything new, just implements things which have been done before. There's nothing wrong with that, but I think that vo and Life could have done more; and expecting people to be hugely impressed by it is perhaps being a little optimistic. I'm not saying this to criticise as such - what they've done is good, the site is fast and (I assume) works well, so they've done a good job. But at the same time, getting offended when someone points out that it isn't really doing anything "new" is pointless, because - to be honest - it doesn't do anything new. That's not criticism (as I said above, digwar.com is ancient now and is showing it), but it is fact.
What I'm saying is that I'd be more impressed if the site had some real "new" features. And I'm sure vo and Life are good enough to make something outstanding, instead of something ... not run of the mill, but not special either.
The site I quoted above (www.clan-sqs.com) does a fair few things that are impressive, and will do more when they're finished. Most of the good stuff is hidden away (the admin options etc.), but even so it's pretty special just to a visitor. If it's down now keep trying it. I'm not giving that site as an example to teef features off, just one that does new things in very good ways, and shows that you can still be innovative with clan sites.
Again, not meant to offend, just to put some perspective on things :). |

Well cc,Im pretty sure mostve whats on here was on the old site and thus was coded before the SHS version...Including the fairly generic way of handling screenshot links(also the poll,flags,columns,stats) but since these are all fairly standard things i dont seem to remember anyone going on the shs site and mentioning any of this?
As for the preferences page well,Who's to say whats going to be there.
Also theres nothing wrong with being influenced by and using good ideas,Neither Digwar or the SHS site were groundbreaking...Good sites nontheless.However i dont think Vo or Life have claimed to have made anything completely original and new,Theyve just made a clan site that does exactly what we need it to.
To end on a bitchy note :),I though the SHS design was originally very nice and although theyve got some really good features to it now(forum,stats etc) it generally seems a bit of a mess and looks like everything has been crammed in with no regard for design,I apologise if i offend but its simply an opinion :)
As for Digwar well as CC has admitted it looks a little dated but still does everything a clan site should so cant really think of anything to moan about...Cept add some fkin screenshots :P |

| ok CC, fair enough, i agree that it doesnt exactly do a huge amount that could be classed as new, at the end of the day what is there to do that is new? all that BC require is a nice demo, results, members and news pages, i dont think its exactly appropriate to try and ram as many new ideas down peoples throats as possible, my homepage will do that ;P its a clan site, the primary concern was to keep the download size to a minimum. BC and SQS have completely different requirements. |

CC as for the "no new things" we were the ones who came up with lots of ideas which were stolen by other clans (SHS) , did we whine? no. And if u think its so easy thinking of new things u might give us a few ideas so we can work them out as most of the things have already been used before.
This site isnt finished yet, its still in beta version i havent had time to add the special features/advanced things yet, i only uploaded it coz else we didnt even have a homepage, so just be patient... about an impressive admin system well i might give u a login so u can see what i made. I think its just redicilous to say we copied the page, yes i know i got the calender idea from the DW webby, and im thankfull for that as without you i would never have thought of something like this, but saying this is a ripoff coz we use tables / left menu / top image is bullshit. |
